The national body of the Nigerian Publishers Association will now be led by Chief Uchenna Cyril Anioke, Managing Director and CEO Of Acena Publishers Limited. In a statement released by the NPA, ‘The Nigerian Publishers Association (NPA) has elected a new set of executives to lead and steer the ship of the Association for another two years. The election which was held on Friday, 4th December 2020 at the Best Western Plus Hotels, Enugu during the 55th Annual Conference and General Meeting witnessed a large turnout of stakeholders in the Nigerian Publishing Industry who came to exercise their franchise in a peaceful and orderly process. The following persons therefore emerged as the newly elected Executive Council Members of the NPA
1. Hon. Chief Uchenna Cyril Anioke, (MD/CEO of Acena Publishers Limited) – President
2. Alhaji Lukman Dauda (MD, Evans Brothers- Nigeria Publishers Limited) – Vice President
3. Chief Austin Onwubiko (MD, Africana First Publishers PLC) – Deputy President (East)
4. Mrs Folashade Shinkaiye (MD, Sterling Books Nigeria Limited) – Deputy President (West)
The newly elected president, Hon. Chief Uchenna Cyril Anioke while giving his inaugural speech and enumerating the blueprint of his administration, commended the association’s outgone president, Mr Gbadega Adedapo, describing him as a “man of great zeal and his contributions towards the sustenance of the NPA cannot be overemphasized. Hence, the newly constituted leadership shall be centered on continuity of his achievements” The President said.’
