The Beeta Universal Arts Foundation has a mission – to find new Nigerian voices in the literary genre of drama. And after months of celebrating the success of the last edition of Beeta Playwright Competition in July, the team has announced a 4th edition with a call for entries.
According to the official press release on the website, the 4th edition is themed ‘Through the ashes we rise – stories of hope and resilience in a new Nigeria’, and interested Nigerian playwrights within the age bracket of 18-40 are encouraged to send their entries before 28th December, 2020.
The press release also states that the winning play will fetch its winner a whooping sum of one million naira, a publishing agreement and a production deal. The winner will also be joining the league of past BPC winners Paul Ugbede, Abdul Qudus Ibrahim and Chioma Achalugo Ezekobe.
